As parents of children with special needs who have transitioned into the SDP program, we got a first hand glimpse of the challenges and obstacles that families transitioning to SDP face.  The first disappointment was the utter lack of options as one FMS after another told us that they have a wait list or worse yet are not even forming a wait list till the following calendar year.

When we finally found a couple FMS companies willing to consider taking us on as a client, we learned that the onboarding involved filling out approximately 80 pages of PDF documents by hand, then signing, scanning, and emailing them back for processing with little to no instructions.  It goes without saying that adding Vendors, Employees or submitting invoices for payment followed much of the same manual, inefficient, and ineffective process.
